Luck
Definition
Example
"He wished her luck before the exam."
"Luck, whether good or bad, can teach you lessons and help you improve."
"Luck will help only when you put in hard work and effort to achieve real success."
Explanation
Luck means good or bad things that happen by chance. People sometimes say, “Good luck on your exam!” to wish someone well. Luck shows that chance can affect life, both positively and negatively. Many people who focus on luck forget about planning and effort. However, luck alone cannot bring success, without hard work, practice, or preparation, even “good luck” won’t help. Luck may make some things easier, but achieving real goals depends on effort, careful planning, and continuing despite difficulties. If you don’t put in effort, you will never realise that all chances, good or bad, are a ladder to success. Good luck gives motivation, and bad luck helps you learn and improve. This reminds us that personal action can benefit from chance.
