Enter

Enter means to go into a place, join something, or put information in. For example, you enter a room by walking inside. People also enter contests by joining. On a computer, you enter data by typing it in. The word shows moving from outside to inside, or beginning to take part in something. In stories, writers often say “He entered the scene” to show when a character appears. It can also mean officially starting something, like “enter a profession”. Enter is used in everyday life, from walking into buildings to filling forms or joining events.
