📚 Book Summary: "Sweety Kumari's Booklet"

The Girl Who Believed in Miracles

The Girl Who Believed in Miracles is a heartfelt, semi-autobiographical work by Sweety Kumari, a college student from Bihar writing her first book. The story follows Divya, a vibrant, compassionate young girl living in a joint family, who navigates life's challenges with unwavering faith and an open heart.

Who is Divya? Divya is an energetic, generous soul who lives by a simple belief: "If you act kindly, life will treat you kindly." She dreams big, of financial independence, exploring ancient South Indian temples, and traveling the world, yet remains grounded in her family, her faith, and her love for all living creatures.

Life in a Joint Family Divya grows up in a warm, bustling joint family home filled with love, shared responsibilities, and the occasional loss of privacy. Having lost her father at a young age, she finds strength in her siblings, her mother, and the memories of her beloved grandparents, especially her "Dadu", whose wisdom and stories shaped her deeply.

Her Love for Animals One of Divya's most defining qualities is her boundless love for animals. Her home is essentially a small sanctuary, dogs, sparrows, squirrels, mongooses, bats, and even harmless snakes during the holy month of Sawan have all coexisted peacefully with her family. She sees every creature as a teacher of kindness, empathy, and patience.

The Curse Story A mysterious thread runs through the book, a family belief that "pairs never survive" in their household, and that spouses tend to be lost young across generations. Though Divya initially dismisses it as superstition, repeated patterns in her life make her quietly uneasy. Yet she chooses faith over fear, trusting that everything happens by God's will.

How Does She Always Escape? The book's most gripping chapter recounts two near-death incidents. In the first, a young Divya nearly drowns in a village canal, only to be pulled out at the last moment by her cousin. In the second, she almost falls into a deep roadside well while distracted, and is rescued by a girl who happened to be passing by. Each escape leaves her more grateful and more careful, and more convinced that an invisible hand protects her.

Her Prayer Answered The final chapter is perhaps the most moving. After losing a loved one, Divya accidentally forgets her phone's password, trapping precious last photographs of that person inside. Days of panic and grief follow. Then, while quietly praying under an open sky, a word suddenly flashes in her mind, and the phone unlocks. In that silent moment, she feels something far greater than coincidence at work.

Closing Message The book ends with a beautiful reminder that gratitude and kindness are the real miracles we carry within us, and that help, when truly needed, always finds a way to arrive.

A deeply personal and touching debut, written with genuine warmth.
