Nirupama
About
Nirupama is a highly energetic young woman who completed every task with a positive mindset and without making a single excuse. Her qualities strongly reflect those of a true leader. One of her finest creations during Season 1 of VTCH was her handwritten booklet, "From Girl to a Woman". It is a piece that every young girl should read and reflect upon. Her message to the world is simple yet powerful: no one is coming to save you, it is up to you. Transformation begins the moment you take responsibility for your own life.
My Philosophy of Life and the rules I live by:
I believe life is not merely about achievements, titles, or external success. For me, the ultimate goal of life is inner peace. True fulfillment comes when a person feels calm, content, and aligned with themselves, regardless of the circumstances around them. Over time, I have come to understand that life is not defined by what happens to us, but by how we choose to respond to it. Our outer world often becomes a reflection of our inner mindset, beliefs, and perspective.
One of the values I hold closest to my heart is self-awareness. I believe a meaningful life begins when we become conscious of our thoughts, emotions, actions, and desires. Awareness allows me to make better decisions, remain grounded during difficult times, and stay connected to my authentic self.
I view challenges as hidden opportunities for growth. Every obstacle, setback, and difficult experience has taught me valuable lessons and helped shape the person I am becoming. Even the most painful moments have contributed to my strength, resilience, and understanding of life. Looking back, I feel grateful for every challenge because each one played a role in my personal growth.
Protecting my inner peace has become one of my greatest priorities. I have realized that peace is not something the world gives us—it is something we cultivate within ourselves. Because of this, I am mindful of the people, environments, and influences I allow into my life. I believe that safeguarding our mental and emotional well-being is essential for living a balanced and meaningful life.
Relationships also hold a special place in my philosophy. I value genuine connections over large social circles and believe that loyalty, honesty, and emotional support form the foundation of meaningful relationships. During life's most challenging moments, authentic relationships become a source of strength, comfort, and guidance.
Another principle that guides me is discipline. Whether it is personal growth, education, health, or emotional stability, discipline has consistently helped me become a better version of myself. It allows me to stay focused on my goals, remain consistent in my efforts, and continue moving forward even when motivation is absent.
I also believe that kindness and humanity are among the greatest qualities a person can possess. Success may change our circumstances, but it should never change our character. No matter how far I go in life, I never want to lose the compassion, empathy, and humanity that make us truly human.
Spiritual growth is equally important to me. I believe that everything begins within. Staying connected to my soul, my higher self, and the divine gives me clarity, strength, and purpose. I believe in doing my best, taking responsibility for my actions, and surrendering what lies beyond my control with faith, patience, and trust in the journey.
Looking back, I can say that I had already begun working on myself before joining VT, but this journey helped me recognize my growth on a much deeper level. It strengthened my discipline, self-awareness, and understanding of consistency. Today, I feel proud of the person I am becoming and excited about the person I continue to evolve into.
Above all, I carry one belief with me wherever I go: with faith, patience, discipline, and consistent effort, everything eventually finds its place. Life may not always unfold according to our plans, but when we continue moving forward with trust and perseverance, every experience becomes part of a greater purpose.Book Summary: "Nirupama's Booklet"
From a Girl to a Woman: Lessons I'll Never Unlearn
by Nirupama Meher
What if the storm didn't come to destroy you, but to finally introduce you to yourself?
That's the beating heart of this raw, handwritten book by a young woman who had the courage to bleed on paper and call it wisdom.
The Girl She Was
Nirupama begins by introducing us to someone painfully familiar, a girl with no goals, no boundaries, and an aching need to be loved. She chased friendships that drained her, stayed in situations that broke her, and confused people-pleasing with kindness. She cried silently through the nights, accepted being cheated on, and still gave more chances. She didn't know what self-worth looked like because no one had ever shown her, including herself.
Most of us have been her. That's exactly why this book hurts in the best way.
The Storm That Shook Everything
Then life, as it always does, intervened. False love, fake friendships, toxic roommates, betrayal, depression, academic failure, loneliness. The storm didn't arrive dramatically. It crept in slowly, stayed long, and left her hollow.
But Nirupama refuses to frame this as tragedy. She reframes it as necessary surgery, the kind that removes everything that was never really yours to begin with.
The Healing That No One Warned Her About
Here's where this book stands apart from every motivational quote you've scrolled past. Nirupama tells you the ugly truth about healing, that it's not golden sunrises and journal entries that fix everything overnight. It's puffy eyes, sleepless nights, not being able to look at your own reflection. It's sitting in front of a temple idol with tears streaming down your face, not even sure what you're asking for.
Her healing toolkit was painfully simple, and that's exactly what makes it powerful:
Meditation when she couldn't focus.
Exercise when she had no energy.
Visiting the temple when she had no faith.
Self-discipline when she had zero motivation. And slowly, almost imperceptibly, the light came.
Becoming Her
The most luminous chapter of the book traces her transformation from a girl who sought herself in other people, to a woman who finally came home, to herself.
She began asking questions she'd been too afraid to voice: Who am I when I'm not trying to please anyone? What do I actually want? What kind of woman do I want to become?
And in the silence, answers started arriving.
She writes about self-love not as a hashtag, but as a daily decision. She distinguishes self-love from selfishness with beautiful clarity, one fills your cup so you can overflow into others; the other steals from everyone including yourself. She talks about forgiving herself for every time she settled, not for the people who hurt her, but for her own mental peace.
Her chapter on the mind, health, career, relationships, and soul reads like a manifesto for a balanced life, not a perfect one, but a whole one.
Emotional Independence, The Quiet Power
This may be the most important chapter you'll ever read if you've ever made another person your emotional home address.
Nirupama dismantles emotional dependency with a steady hand. She describes how she once tied her entire happiness to other people's moods, their presence, their validation, and how shattering that became when they left. She makes a distinction that hits like a quiet thunderclap: being emotional means you still have a heart that feels; being an emotional fool means you let those feelings override your wisdom.
Her truths from this chapter are gems:
- Silence is not weakness, it's emotional maturity
- You can love deeply and still walk away when respect is gone
- Don't be so sweet that they'll eat you
Blooming in Solitude
The final chapter is a love letter to being alone, and it's gorgeous.
Nirupama writes about how she once feared silence the way you fear a dark room. But solitude became her mirror, her medicine, and eventually her favorite place to be. She learned to hear her own thoughts without the world drowning them out. She began noticing the sound of rain, slow mornings, birds chirping, the peace of her own company.
She makes a distinction that lingers: loneliness screams; solitude heals. Loneliness is disconnection from others. Solitude is deep connection with yourself.
And she ends with a truth about success, that the most accomplished people you admire once spent countless hours alone, building themselves in the quiet when no one was watching.
The Epilogue, A Gift Left on Every Page
Nirupama closes this book not as someone who has figured life out, but as someone who is still trying, and isn't ashamed of it. She acknowledges her grammatical imperfections, her looping thoughts, her repeated ideas. And in doing so, she gives every imperfect reader permission to be exactly where they are.
She sends you off with one final message to carry in your chest:
"Life will never be without storms, but now you know how to dance in the rain and rebuild under the sun."
Why You Should Read This Book
Because it wasn't written by a polished author in a high-rise office. It was written by a girl in a hostel room, crying her eyes out, deciding to choose herself anyway. In handwriting. Across 61 pages of a lined notebook.
Because it doesn't promise you a perfect life, it promises you a real one.
Because somewhere in these pages, you will find yourself, the version of you that got lost, the version that is healing, and the version that is quietly, beautifully becoming.
Read it slowly. Carry it with you. And remember, you were never broken. You were becoming.
