Pet

A pet is an animal that people keep at home because they like it and want it as a companion. Pets, like cats, dogs, birds, or fish, are cared for, fed, and loved by their owners. People play with pets, talk to them, and sometimes even dress them up or teach them special actions or behaviours, like “sit”, “roll over”, or “shake hands”. Pets give happiness, comfort, and friendship, and they can make people feel less lonely. Taking care of a pet also teaches responsibility and kindness.
