Herself

Herself means the same girl or woman who does the action and receives it. For example, “She hurt herself while cooking”, meaning she did it to her own body. It is a reflexive pronoun, used when the subject and object are the same person (means a girl or woman does something to herself), like she taught herself to speak confidently. It can also show emphasis in two ways:

• In the first, the focus is on who did the action, like “She did it herself!”, meaning she was the one who did it, not someone else.
• In the second, the focus is on how the action was done (used with “by” before it), like “She did it by herself”, meaning she did it alone, without anyone’s help.

It helps make sentences clear and strong about one person’s own actions.
