Ever

Ever is used to talk about any time in life, often in questions or negative sentences. For example, “Have you ever been to London?” It can also be used for emphasis, like “It’s the best book ever!” Ever can also mean always, especially in phrases like “ever faithful”, “ever smiling”, or “everlasting”. It is common in daily conversation, writing, and storytelling. It refers to any time from the past until now or sometimes into the future, or without end, as in “forever.” It is also used in the phrase “forever and ever” to mean “always”.
