Explanation
The coast is where the land meets the sea or ocean. For example, when you stand on a beach looking at waves, you are at the coast. People visit coasts for swimming, fishing, and enjoying nature. Coast can also mean moving smoothly without effort. For example, when you ride a bike downhill without pedaling, you are “coasting.” In daily conversation, saying someone is “coasting” means they are doing something without much effort, but still moving forward. So, coast can describe a location next to water or the effortless movement of a person or object.
